Dear SSHS classmates of 1967 Our grandson, Cason, is improving each day and has was moved from ICU to a private room on Wednesday afternoon. He has been taken off of the ventilator, and the chest tube has been removed. We have seen the power of prayer working on our little Cason, and we give our Lord all the praise for taking care of sweet grandson. Thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray that he will be able to go home soon and be the active little boy that we love to watch shoot hoops with his basketball. God Bless You,Rickey and Sue Cook

Dear GHS class of 1967 - We need your prayers for our grandson, Cason Cook. He has strep bacteria in his lung (strep bacteria is similar to strep throat). He has been in ICU since Tuesday and sedated. He is a very sick little boy who will be 3 in February. Please pray that the Lord reach down and touch his little body and heal him. I am claiming this victory from God as I write this and will praise His name and give Him the Hnor and Glory. Thank you and God Bless You, Rickey and Sue Cook (As I have the opportunity, I will keep you posted on our little Cason).

If this is the Sharon Jones I went to Bowie Elementary with, she must have had an interesting life cause I remember her getting kissed by Jimmy Clanton outside the Greenville Municipal Auditorium after a concert that featured Frankie Ford (Sea Cruise) as they stopped off for coffee money on their way to Dallas.(how far back does that take you?) and being arrested for threatening the life of President Gerald Ford, I think. Anyway, sad to lose another classmate. God bless,

Dear GHS friends - We wish each and every one of our GHS friends a very Happy New Year. Our Christmas was filled with children and grandchildren. It was such a blessing to have all our family at our house for the holidays. Our home was filled with family and lots of laughter and fun. We have been so blessed by our Lord, and we give Him all the glory and praise. We would love for all of us (GHS friends)to meet for dinner in the Greenville/Dallas area. Just let us know when and where. God Bless You All, Rickey and Sue Cook

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed time with loved ones. I pray the blessings of the Christmas season will continue each day and that you have a happy and healthy 2012. Alan, you`re so right. The years seem to slip away more quickly, and I find myself reflecting more on `memories of home`. Our country is in my prayers, as are each of you. May God bless each of you in the coming year, and may the road ahead be paved with hope of a brighter day. Happy New Year!

Thanks, Karla and to you too! Well, kids...yet another year has come and gone. How quickly they slip away now. As 2011 comes to a close, and another Christmas season is upon us, allow me….. I love this country as I know all of you do. Despite the “Leave it to Beaver” tag for our generation, I am proud to have been a child of the 50’s and moreover, to have parents that were part of the “Greatest Generation”. How time has changed things. It’s disheartening that our failed leadership has abandoned the very principals and values that made this country great, and replaced them with misguided policies and political correctness. Sadly, we are seemingly headed down a path of self-destruction. We have lost our way. This is not the country for which my dad left home, stepped into the ball turret of a B-17 and risked his young life. This is not the country that we all loved in the fifties and sixties. I’m reminded of a verse from the beautiful, yet profound Christmas carol “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” that proclaims: ”Then peeled the bells more loud and deep…. God is not dead nor doth he sleep. The wrong shall fail, the right prevail…with peace on earth good will to men” And so that is our hope. And as we stand at the threshold of yet another year, let us pray diligently for our precious country and embrace more than ever the values we hold so dearly that we were taught so many years ago, in a little old place called Greenville, Texas. It’s always so great to hear from each of you! May the warmth and joy of the Christmas season be with you now and every day throughout the coming year. Merry Christmas everyone! Alan

I just finished reading a book titled "Looking for Trouble" writen by Ronnie George--Mike`s brother. It is a compilation of stories about growing up in Greenville and on their farm. It brought back memories of Greenville the way it was in the `50`s and `60`s. For a nostalgic reflection of our youth, I recommend it as a good read ful of fond rememberances. My best to everyone, Mike

Johnny Mathis can still sing those beautiful songs that we all listened to as teenagers. I wanted to share this exciting event with my classmates.   For those of you who sang in the choir under Charles Sivley, there will be a surprise "This Is Your Life" 80th birthday party for him on July 9 at 4pm at Wesley Methodist Church in Greenville, with reception to follow. Try to spread the word to as many as you know who sang in the choir. Remember this is a SURPRISE! We will all sing "The Hallelujah Chorus" at the end, so brush up on your Handel.   Many of you know that Lizzy McGaughey lives in Joplin and we`ve been a bit concerned about her and her family.   Many of you will be saddened to know that Marie Billingslea (Brad`s mom) passed away February 17. She taught many of us 8th grade English and was one of the finest teachers to ever grace a blackboard in the Greenville school system and one of my personal favorites. I credit much of my career abilities to many things I learned from her. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit her several years ago...she was as lovely and graceful as ever. She complimented me on what a fine, smart student I was. I said she had me confused with someone else. We both had a good chuckle...I will always remember that. I know Brad and his family would appreciate our prayers. aa Obituary link http://heraldbanner.com/obituaries/x72347411/Marie-Billingslea

CB`s! Great memories there! Wonder how many of us could fit in CB`s?! I think a lunch there would be great! OK, Sue, let`s do it! I`m giving you a call! :) Love you too, "Sis"! Family...that`s what our 40th felt like. Amazing how the years melted away and how much more important it was that we had another opportunity to make `new` friends out of the `old`. Hope everyone will come to the next reunion. I think you`ll be glad you did.

I am really looking forward to the reunion. It would be nice if those of us that are close enough could get together for a dinner and visit. I remember getting into my car and heading to CB`s for a quick lunch. CB`s had the best cookies (wish I could find that great taste of cookie again). My lunch consisted of a diet rite cola and two cookies and then quickly head back to school. Those were good days at Greenville High School. Deb, I hope you are feeling better and know how those aches and pain can hit us. It is snowing again in our town. I am sitting at the computer and watching the snow fall in our back yard. I love you Deb. I am anxious to attend the reunion when it gets here. Love, Sue (Passons) Cook

Hello, Classmates! I hope 2011 is finding you all doing well; however, if you`re anything like me, you`re finding those little nagging aches and pains making life a bit more interesting! :) Of course, if I wouldn`t trip and fall and bruise myself, I might not have so many of those little nagging reminders that life is marching on! It`s hard to believe we will have been out of school for 44 years this spring! Really?! I`m finding myself wondering how everyone is doing and looking forward to seeing you all again. That next reunion will be here before we know it! Print pictures and get your stories ready now (better write them down though! :) And when you can, share a thought or memory! I`m remembering that I got a B in conduct for being late to class ONE time...and that was in a wreck at lunch! And I wasn`t driving! And it was HomeEc! OK...your turn! (Can you tell...I`m waxing nostalgic and would love to know how you`re doing!)

Going through old photos of my husband`s aunt, I surprised him by recognizing a photo of a former classmate from Lamar Elementary School (first and second grades). (I might not always remember names, but faces seem to stick in my mind!) I compared the photos to the ones I had...it had to be the same girl! When I turned over the first photo...no name, but the second one said "Barbara". It was the same girl! He never really knew her, but they are second cousins! We would like to find her. Her name was Barbara Johnson and her brother`s name is Jimmie. If you remember her or know her, please let her know I would love to find her!

Attending my husband`s class reunion made me wish for our next one! Though I know few of his classmates, it was a warm and friendly atmosphere, and I`m happy to have made some new friends. As they remembered their classmates who have gone on before them, they rang the school bell. It`s a reminder to cherish each day and the friendships that we hold dear. I hope our next reunion will bring even more of our classmates together, in a casual atmosphere that lends itself to long conversations and fond memories. "We hail from GHS! She is the best!"

The 1st and 2nd grade years were my most memorable . . . Mrs. Bray (1st grade) and the little Red Picture Book that had pix of everyone in school. Still have that little red book. Mrs. Kelly in 2nd and that wonderful little circus program we did; even went to ET to perform for the performing arts class I think it was.   Thanks for the memories, Debbie. Yep I remember there was a certain smell in the room as I set foot in Mrs. Smart`s first grade class for the first time at old Travis school. Must have been that unmistakable scent of Crayolas. I had a little trouble sitting down at my desk, because my husky jeans were as stiff as a board. Of course I looked pretty cool because they were rolled up about 6 inches and my hair glistened with Brylcreem. Fast forward...my grandson just started his first day of school this week. My, how far we have come since then. I wish those days for him....but we`ve lost them. Better stop now, I`m about to get political. Happy schooldays everyone! aa

At retirement, Jean was Chairman of the Board/CEO.......Is anyone elso following "The Tour?" The crashes are making me a bit nervous.

Thanks, Richard. I really enjoyed watching the Greenville video. It really brought back memories. It`s good to see Greenville "growing"! I really enjoyed watching one of my sons ride into downtown to finish the bike race (during our 40th reunion). And two of my sons, with their wives, rode in the race after that. We enjoy driving around town when we can, remembering...and seeing `new` sites, especially downtown. I hope everyone will check out the video.

Texas heat has arrived! I sure was hoping for a little cooler temps this early in June! We`re getting `rested up` to welcome grandkids` summer visits! :) Any "cool" ideas to do with kids? One of my grandsons loves to do crafts with me. He calls them "scrafts", so I have some `new` ones lined up for him! Grandneices from San Anonio will join in the fun. Hope you all have a "cool" summer!

The major problem was communications. He returned to Santiago Sunday and everything is more normal and he has Internet. If you would like to email Mario...mariocaris@vtr.net Hope everyone is doing well! Judy PS Karla...I think I know the problem with dup notes...our fingers press the wrong keys!

Well now its my turn. I have retired from Boeing and, when combined with my Air Force career, that`s about 43 years in some form of aviation. Looking forward to the slower pace and staying busy with the things that I choose to be active with. The golf game needs work, that is a nice place to start. I will also be teaching for Olahoma State so I have things to keep me interested for sure. For now we will stay on the wrong side of the Red River and flash the "Hook`em Horns" when nobody`s looking. Love staying in touch with our Message Board!

March...in like a lion and out like a lamb? I`m hoping that hard rain this morning is the `lion`, because I`m ready for some `lamb` weather! I don`t know when I`ve been so cold for so long! : ) We really enjoyed the nearly 12 inches of snow mid-February, and now we`re ready for a little warmer temperatures!   HI Guys, Just getting back online after another computer resurrection. I just wanted to share a bit of my life with you guys, especially those of you who are more or less retired. This winter it has been my "pleasure" to have been in or on the edge of three major blizzards so far. The first blizzard that hit Washington, D.C. last December found me spending Saturday afternoon and night on I-81, just a mile or so south of Exit 180, Northbound. Granny lane. In my truck. (sigh) I am getting so many good war stories,.... I wax nostalgic tonite because I am sitting in Bakersfield, Ca and have had to shovel nothing but sunshine for two days. Take care, God bless......dukus

Great news. I just spoke with James Ervin today and he reported that, despite Nancy’s unsuccessful stem cell therapy, her brain tumor has shrunk nearly 66%! And that it’s possible that it could go away entirely! Needless to say, they are overjoyed and so thankful. She’s not out of the woods yet, but thanks for all your prayers and encouragement. aa

Happy New Year, and may 2010 be happy, healthy, and prosperous! And though each of those things have taken on new meaning at my age, I`m thankful for God`s provision!

Update on Nancy Ervin. She is not responding well to the stem cell therapy, so they have pretty much run out of options.   Thanks Debby…Coach Walters was absolutely one of my favorites…and he could really pick a guitar. His wife, Madge was my Sunday school teacher. They both were tremendous role models and always a joy to be around. On a more solemn note, Nancy Ervin is not responding well to the stem cell therapy for her cancer. She has been in Houston for many months and is ready to come home. As I sensed the anxiety in James’ voice last night, I know it will take nothing short of a miracle for her to come out of this. Please continue to pray for them.

Just thought I would let you`ll know that I ran into Coach Walters and Dr. Nicholson at the Blue Armadillo Winery in downtown Greenville Saturday night. One of our local doctors was performing. I had a really nice conversation with both of them. They were college roomates. Coach Walters said that in 1967 he had just gotten out of the Marines and still had a flat top. He certainly remembered our class. It was really fun talking with him.I told him all the girls thought he was good looking and he got a real kick out of that. I really enjoyed running into him.

Wednesday - Rickey and I went to Greenville this afternoon and took a ride around to places that we went as a child and teenager. Also, we stopped at CB`s hamburger and had a hamburger, french fries, and coke. The burger seemed to be the same size and taste the same, but the price went from 15 cents (then) to $1.95 (Now). It was really fun sitting in CB`S and eating, even though CB`s is not in the same location as when we were in school. Also, we drove out by the park and by the miniature golf course. The golf course is closed, looked so sad, and goats are grazing in the entire miniature golf course. This was a fun day and brings back a lot of good memories. Hope you had a good day.   Don’t know if you’ve heard or not about James Ervin’s wife, Nancy. She has brain cancer and is in for the fight of her life. Local doctors recently gave her about a year to live, but after a visit to MD Anderson, they now have new hope. The next few months will be extremely difficult for them with treatments and trips back and forth to Houston. Sometime within the next few months, maybe some of us that live close enough could all get together for a late lunch in Dallas, Rockwall, or Greenville. It would be fun to get together and fellowship for the afternoon. Think about it, and let`s set a date. Rickey and I do not have a computer at home, so we come to the library about two times a week and check the E-mail. We would love to hear from you. I agree with you, let`s give Deb a big THANK YOU for keeping up the Web page. She is a very special person in my life as well as all of yours. We love you and God Bless You, Rickey and Sue Cook

I spoke to Sue today, and she says the babies are doing better! Colton has had the tube removed, and Amber has been able to hold them both! They really appreciate everyone`s prayers!

News from the Cook family...Rickey had a followup appointment yesterday and is healing well. On Thursday night, the 19th, their twin grandsons were born three weeks early at St. Paul in Dallas. Because of the mom`s (Amber) high blood pressure, they were taken by c-section. She is really stressed. The babies are Colton Reed..5 lbs.6oz. and Cason Zeke..5 lbs. Colton is having a lung problem, making his breathing difficult. Sue asked for prayer for both babies, Mom Amber and Dad Marcus. Let`s include Sue and Rickey in our prayers. This is stressful and physically taxing on them as well, traveling back and forth and caring for the other two grandsons, ages 10 and 3. They haven`t been able to see the babies yet and I know they`re anxious. Sue said they appreciate the calls they`ve received since Rickey`s surgery. We have a great family of friends on this site. I was so happy to hear from Lilia Robles this week! Let`s all keep in touch!

I really appreciate the prayers on my behalf. My echo stress test today had really good results! I`m so very thankful! Thank you, Alan, for posting the request for prayer, and Wayne, thanks for calling. And I appreciate all the emails! It`s amazing how our GHS class has become a family of friends! I look forward to the next gathering! God bless...Debbie

If you haven`t already heard, Debbie (Garrett) Haney spent last night in ER from severe chest pain and very high blood pressure. Tests came back ok, but she is having a stress test on Thursday and is asking our prayers. If you haven`t noticed, Debbie has, without question, been the anchor of this website. Let`s give back to this sweet sister of ours by lifting her up in prayer and wishing her the absolute best as she faces this new challenge. aa

Hello, again, everyone. This is a prayer request from Sue Passons Cook for her husband, Rickey. Following a questionable nuclear stress test, his doctor recommended a heart catheterization. He will have the procedure at Baylor Dallas at 8 a.m. Friday, February 13. Please be in prayer for him. I will post a report as soon as I can. They really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers for them. They are still recovering from the accident and are doing pretty well in that respect. Recovery has been slow but is coming. You know, Sue and I agreed that `retirement` just keeps us busier! She said they have something every day! God bless you...Debbie

Thanks, Debby, for letting us know. Pam`s family will be in my prayers. I can only imagine their pain. There`s an old song that always seems to comfort me in times of sorrow..."Many things about tomorrow I don`t seem to understand...but I know Who holds tomorrow...and I know Who holds my hand!" I pray that God will walk beside each of you and hold your hand through these difficult times, and that He will carry you when you`re too tired to keep walking! So thankful for friends. God Bless...

Well I hate to always post bad news but....Pam Harris`s sister (Charlotte who was a year behind us in school and married Ricky Lucas) lost her son last week. He was only 35 years old and took his own life. I`m sure they would appreciate our prayers right now. I also read about Linda Walker and Cas Andrews. I knew both of them well. And Richard I`m so sorry to hear about your Dad. He was truly a really great man. I think a 2012 would be great.

Hey everyone! Just thought I`d say "Hello". I hope each of you had a good Christmas and that 2009 has started out to be a great year. I am looking forward to seeing all of you the next time we gather--perhaps we could plan another reunion for 2012. If my math is correct, and it rarely is, that would be five years since the last reunion. I think of you all often and spend a lot of time reflecting on how good it was to see all of you at the last reunion. May God bless each of you. Mike

Debby, I`m so glad you and Robert kept after us to attend the 40th reunion. It was so good to see him after all those years, to talk with him and see how happy he was. He talked a lot about his grandchildren, moving back to Texas, reconnecting with you and settling down. All through high school, Robert and I sat next to each other because of alphabetical seating order. According to him, another girl and I occasionally helped him with an answer or two on tests which he insisted helped him earn his diploma. That goes to show he had quite a sense of humor. Thank you for talking with me when I called you last week to see if what I`d heard about Robert was true. I am so saddend and will keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers. Sharon George

Linda Hooker King, I hope you are recovering from your gall bladder surgery. I`m sorry I haven`t been able to keep up with all the Greenville news...I`ve been away from my home and computer for some time now with knee replacement and rehab on various levels.   I talked to Sue and Rickey this morning. Rickey came home from Baylor yesterday and is recovering well at home. His pain is manageable and is much better since before the surgery. Sue is recovering well also...just gets really tired. It will be about a month before returning to school. They really appreciate your prayers. SuLaine, I think another get-together would be great.   Good news! I spoke to Sue tonight and to Leslie (Ricky and Sue`s daughter) this morning. Ricky did well in surgery! The fusion was broken from the wreck, but has been repaired. Sue said they put in nuts and bolts and screws. (Hey, Rick, did the doctor shop at Home Depot? : ) They put in extra support, repaired the disc and fixed the pinch nerve. Everything looks good! So thankful for such good news. Let`s keep praying for a full and speedy recovery. You know...I want to see them dancing again! By the way...when`s the next reunion?!

A quick update on Sue and Ricky Cook.... Sue is still at home regaining her strength before being able to go back to work. Ricky is going to have back surgery to repair a fusion (that was knocked out of line as a result of the wreck), and to take care of a fractured disc and pinched nerve as well. Surgery will be at 5:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 9, at Baylor Dallas. He is expected to be in the hospital 3 or 4 days and off work for about a month. I`ll post when I have more news. They would really appreciate your prayers.

Sure is quiet on here! : ) Just wanted to post that two of our sons and daughters-in-law rode in the 40-mile Greenville Bike Ride yesterday during the Cotton Festival. I was so proud of them! One son rode last year and I met him on the square as his group rode in. It was so fun...especially during the reunion! I was unable to be there this time, but if they ride next year, I plan to meet them! Did anyone go to the festival this year? How about you, Ginger? Did you drive a car this year?!   Sue continues to improve! She was dismissed from one doctor this week. Her voice is getting so much stronger. She had x-rays and will find out the results next week. (Let`s pray that her lungs are clear!) She will have her foot checked next week to be sure it`s healing properly. I know she`s happy to be home, but back and forth to Parkland must be tiring.   Rickey said this afternoon that Sue is doing remarkably well! She`s walking all over the house, and hopefully when her foot heals and she`s out of the boot, she will be able to give up that walker for good! Her family doctor said this week that all the incisions are healing well. She`s still really bruised. She will return to Parkland next Tuesday for chest x-rays and to see the ENT doctor. Her voice is getting stronger and the speech therapist said she needs no further therapy! Rickey said he can tell her voice is getting stronger every day. They really do appreciate all the calls, cards, and all that everyone has done for them. Their church and community have really been supportive also. Please keep them in your prayers. Sue has come so far! Let`s keep praying until she`s all the way back!

Rickey said that Sue is being released to go home today! She will not be sent to in-patient rehab. The drain was removed yesterday and she was off oxygen this morning. This afternoon, the team of drs. decided to send her home. Please continue to pray for her strength and recovery. Visits need to continue being short.   Debbie, Thanks so much for keeping everyone updated on Sue`s progress. Mike and I want to let both Sue and Rickey know that we are thinking of them and keeping them in our prayers. Sue is a remarkable person. She was my Dad`s legal secretary for several years. When she applied for the job right out of high school, she had no experience but told him she would work for a period of time without pay just to prove that she could do the job. They struck a deal and at the end of her trial period, not only was she hired but also received a paycheck. Oh, well, just a little story Sue reminded me of at the reunion. Thanks again for keeping us updated.

Let`s all say a little prayer for them. They are certainly in my thoughts. I did not know about this until last night when Kathy called me. We all so take life for granted and we never know what is around the corner for us. Thanks Debbie for keeping us posted. I forget sometimes that we still have this website. Please let them know that I`m thinking of them.

I received a message from Sue`s daughter this morning saying that Sue will have surgery Wednesday to remove the fluid from her right lung. She said Sue is `doing great but needs to get the lung cleared up.` She asked for prayer for a successful surgery.

  Debbie Haney 7/12/2008
  haney7755@sbcglobal.net
Rickey said this morning that the chest tube is not working and will come out. A lung specialist will be consulted for a possibly larger tube or surgery to drain the fluid. Sue said her body is getting tired. She`s come so far in 26 days since the accident. Let`s continue to hold them up in prayer. Just as their friend, I want to thank each of you for your prayers and your support of Sue and Rickey. It means so much to them.

I visited with Sue and Rickey today. Sue is improving, although she does still have the chest tube. They are so appreciative for everyone`s thoughts and prayers. They`re looking forward to when they can go `home` for rehab. She`s still talking in a whisper and tires quickly, but her spirit is strong and that smile is great to see! Please keep praying...   Alan...I`m so glad you got to visit with Sue and Rickey. Rick just called and said they really appreciate everything from each of you! Sue wanted him to call to tell me that the doctor is putting in a drain tube in her right lung today to drain fluid. It will be in for 2 or 3 days. He said they haven`t mentioned the word `pneumonia`. Sue continues to be in quite a bit of pain. Leslie said yesterday that Sue had a rough night on Wednesday. Visits are limited for now. Please continue to hold them up in prayer.

Thanks, Pam. I know for sure that the family appreciates all the thoughts and prayers from everyone.   Sue is being careflighted to Parkland about 12:40 today. Please pray for safety and that the drs. there will be ready to care for her! There`s no further bleeding, but she still has anesthesia in her system. She`s stable enough to make the flight. Please pray for her. Debbie

Sue had surgery this morning. The bleeding had stopped and they closed the incision! Leslie asked for continued prayer for no further bleeding and no infection. I know they appreciate all the prayers and concern from everyone. I`ll keep you posted on her recovery.

I spoke with Leslie this evening. Sue is sedated (while on the ventilator) but was talking and aware of everything before the surgery yesterday. The internal bleeding is subsiding, and if that stops, she is scheduled for surgery tomorrow at noon. All her vitals are good. Rickey is doing OK. Let`s keep praying for them....Debbie

I just spoke to Sue`s daughter, Leslie. The doctor told them everything has checked out OK...of course with the exception of a severely lacerated liver. Yesterday during surgery, packing and sponging was put in, with hope that the liver would `fix itself`. It is not bleeding...a definite blessing...although there is some internal bleeding from the trauma. Sue is being given platelets. Her vitals and pressure are good. She will remain on a ventilator until after tomorrow`s surgery...about 12:00 noon. Rickey is `OK`, but has a problem with his lung that Leslie said would be treated in the doctor`s office `later`. He was in the waiting room with her. Leslie also said that the paramedics didn`t expect Sue to have made it through the accident because it was so bad. Miracles do happen!!! Sue and Rickey were stopped on the loop in Paris. An 18-wheeler was behind them. It is thought that the driver was distracted when he reached for his coke. He was able to miss them directly, but the back wheels and trailer hit their truck. I`m so thankful for God`s hand of protection. Please keep them in your prayers. Sue`s surgery is noon tomorrow.

Hey girls... It`s been awhile since we got together. Another school year is almost over. 41 years? No way! You know, they say age is just a state of mind! (So what are you wearing to prom? : ) Now that would be a hoot...dig out those prom pictures (anyone still have their prom dress? anyone able to still get IN their prom dress? : ) I still have my gloves! Let`s get together for another brunch...bring some of those fun photos from old GHS! And if you scrapbook, I stopped in the Greenville scrapbook store (Wesley St. @ 1570) this week. They have some beautiful Greenville Lions paper! I`ll bring photo CD`s when we gather...or I can mail them. Let us know if you`re interested. We had so much fun last time! And you know, maybe we can even plan a lunch or dinner in Greenville this summer for any classmates that can get together for an informal gathering. Any interest, guys and gals? Hope to see you soon! Debbie

May the New Year bring you all good health and what your heart most desires! It was so good visiting with everone at the reunion and I must say that life seems to have been beter to the ladys than to us guys. What a bunch of knockouts.   I`d like to echo Keith`s holiday greeting, and I wish each of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And like Keith, I hope to grab a few more friends for the next reunion! Maybe each of us can persuade someone who didn`t come to this reunion to come to the next one. Ten of us recently enjoyed a fun lunch in Rockwall. It`s such fun to rekindle friendships and make "new" ones after all these years! (Let us know if you`re interested in the next Greenville Girls gathering!!) The sense of family that came from our 40th reunion will far outlast the memories, I`m sure! And I`m looking forward to seeing everyone again...and hopefully lots more of you! If you`re hesitant, just know that there`s a big group of classmates that want to hear from you and visit with you! Stay in touch! Merry Christmas!

I embarrassed to say I am just getting around to reading the messages! It was a great reunion wasn`t it. The committee had a good time planning it, and I had fun compiling the memory book - I got to read all about everyone before the reunion.   Wayne, you have my vote for another reunion in 5 years! You and the entire committee deserve applause for the work you put into this reunion! I have only two regrets...that there wasn`t enough time to visit with everyone, and that I didn`t take more photos! I`m putting a CD of photos together, so if anyone has some that you could send via email, please send them to the above email address, or I will gladly reimburse for copies and postage! I hope more classmates can come to the next reunion. They were missed...and they missed a great reunion! Any girls interested in meeting for lunch in Rockwall or Greenville? We have 8-10 already! Let us know. Let`s keep in touch!

I cannot speak for the entire committee, but the best part of the reunion, for me, was knowing that everyone had a good time. Unless you were on the committee, you will could not know the excitment that each of us had built up inside anticipating the reunion. It was a pleasure to have served on the committee with Carole, Alan, Danny, Sulaine, Debby, and Ginger. Each of you worked countless hours making this the best reunion yet, and I do commend you for a job exceedingly well done. This website will be kept active, so let`s all use it. If you can help us locate other class members, be sure to update their information in the directory section of this website. We are thinking in the terms of another reunion in five years. Let us know what you think. Until then, GO BIG RED!!!!! Wayne

The class reunion was so much fun. Rickey and I enjoyed visiting with everyone at the lunch at the Italian Restaurant on Friday afternoon, at the football game on Friday night, at the Royal Drive-In Friday night, touring the school on Saturday morning, eating lunch at Sally`s Saturday at noon, and at the dinner and dance at Webb Hill on Saturday night. I appreciate all the work the committee put forth in getting this 40th class reunion together. THANK YOU !!! I have visited with several classmates that hope we can another one in five years. That would be so great. Again, thanks for a weekend of fun and wonderful fellowship with my 1967 GHS classmates. The dance was also fun. rickey and I had not danced that much in a very long time. It was fun. Let`s keep in touch. Love, Sue (Passons) Cook PS: I really liked the poem.

WOW!!! I`ve been reading through the message board since the Reunion and everyone has expressed my sentiments about the weekend. Since I hadn`t attended a reunion before, I really didn`t know what to expect. I can say with assuredness "it was a whole lot more than I expected!" It was wonderful to see everybody once more. And, Ginger, what a great job you did on the Memory Book! I can see it took a lot of time and effort on your part so "Thank You So Very Much!" Again, thank you to the Committee for all the hard work and long hours you put in to bring it altogether. Alan, I loved the poem, it certainly spoke volumes of truth and love. Mario, thank you for the dances and the wonderful dinner conversation . . . and thanks most of all for making the trip!!! Joe DeGarso, you haven`t changed a bit!!! Love to each and every one of you until next time!

I just wanted to personally thank each of you for your participation in the reunion this past weekend and for making it an absolutely unforgettable event. It was a joy to see and visit with each and every one of you. It’s hard to believe that the wild and crazy kids that I grew up with have turned into bunch of first rate human beings. Thank you. I’ve put together a little poem about the weekend and would like to dedicate it to all of you and especially the reunion committee for making all this happen. I went to a class reunion at Greenville High today Reunions aren`t for everyone but hey... that`s just okay It`s always great to see the kids and reminisce the day. To eat a bite...and chat a while and then be on our way. But somehow things had changed this time...don`t know exactly why All the kids were different now…you could see it in their eye. Oh sure there were tufts of white above a wrinkled brow A slower pace...a mellow face...a bigger shirt size now. But more than what I saw outside came something from within A hug, a kiss, a warm handshake that said "you are my friend" No "look at me…what I have done! I’m prosperous, can’t you see?!" Instead some outstretched arms that said "You mean a lot to me" The evening was a sweet affair as we talked about the years Of memories and grandkids now! Through happiness and tears. The food was great, the laughter grand. We whirled around the floor And thought of cherished classmates that aren’t with us anymore. Reunions will be fewer now…we know not what`s in store But that`s okay....we`re family now...not classmates anymore. And as the sun begins to set, no doubt will come the day Reunion times that we have shared…will all have passed away. But that`s okay, there`ll come a time…when we all get to heaven We`ll have reunions when we want…our Class of 67. I went to a class reunion at GHS today Reunions aren`t for everyone but hey....that`s just okay Love and blessings to everyone….aa

Yesterday I relived all the reunion memories with Cathy Harvey Johnson. We met at Luby`s in Tyler, Texas and I just talked a blue streak catching her up. I was spitting food here and there, naturally, but Cathy didn`t mind a bit. Then we poured over that group picture and the memory like there was no tomorrow, me running on and on and Cathy adding her comments. I didn`t have to lie or embellish one little bit for once. I really rubbed it in that she missed a good time. She will tell Susan all this. I bet next time those two reunion slackers will be present and accounted for. And we need to get this next reunion planned, guys. And, God willing, I won`t have that horrible heart by my name. But if I do, I lived life my way....and lived to enjoy a Reunion Number 40....and show off my Mark McHenry, one of the suprises as well as the great blessings of my life. My best to all!!!!!!!!!! K Lew

Many, many thanks to the reunion committee for a fabulous evening. I am in agreement with Debbie that this was the best reunion ever. If I had my high school years to do over, I would get to know many of you so much better. I couldn`t go to bed last night until I had read through the Memory Book. You are all an amazing group of people with diverse interests and accomplishments. I just wish that everyone had written a little something about themselves whether they were attending the reunion or not. Thank you, Alan, for the memorial to our classmates no longer with us. Thanks again for a memorable evening.

Hope ALL of you have a GREAT time this week-end "remembering when"! Thought I was going to be there, but every now and then I find that "common sense " should prevail, and since I seldom use it, now might be a good time. I had surgery two weeks ago today, and I am working hard to find strength and determination. The mind is filling but in some cases the body is not. Nothing serious, but now three surgeries in one year can take its toll. So again, BEST WISHES to everyone and safe travels to those of you making the trip!

Dear Golfing Classmates: The reunion committee was kind enough to give me the names of those, see end of email, playing golf on 9/15 (thanks Alan). Kathy and I have teamed up and look forward to a lot of fun. (Speaking of fun - my favorite PGA golfer won yesterday--horray for Lefty!) You know every golfer has an excuse, and I want to offer mine in advance to avoid ridicule. I found out on Friday that I have tendinitis of the right elbow and my swing sucks big time to compensate for the discomfort. So please no unkind remarks next week about my playing ability or I will be forced to use my water pistol. I look forward to seeing everyone soon and thank the reunion committee for their work.   Oops...false alarm about Wayne being on Wheel of Fortune this week. We`ll let you know when it`s supposed to air. That`s not to say you can`t watch it if you really want to.

When to a birthday party last night and with approximately 200+ guests. I was having a great time shaking hands and talking with people I haven`t seen in quiet some time. I lady tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I were Wayne Money. Reluctantly, I said yes. She introduced herself as "Marilyn Connell". What a wonderful surprise. We had a good visit and she is excited about the reunion. This classmate has literally travelled the world with her job. We need everyone to contact those who have not registered and encourage them to come. Don`t leave is to just the reunion committee.

I know you will all be saddened to know that we lost Greg Wallace this past Saturday. Don`t know the circumstances regarding his passing, but he was a neat kid and I never saw him when he didn`t have a smile on his face. He will be missed...and I`m sure his family would covet your prayers. http://www.heraldbanner.com/obituaries/ local_story_134013626.html Alan

Danny this is great having a way to communicate with old friends. I think the committee has done a great job again as usual. I want to thank Wayne for tracking me down. Danny, will you be keeping this message board up even after this reunion? Look forward to seeing all of you in September.

You have plenty on time to make reservations to come to the reunion on Sept 15. Please do not wait to the last minute to let us know you are coming. Make the commitment to come and then register. Don`t forget to let us know what you`ve been doing. Go to the questionnaire and start typing. The committee is doing a good job. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SHOW UP!!!

Hi Jean, I was just talking to my husband, Bob, about you this week! I always loved your sense of style....do you remember the day you were sent home for wearing a "disruptive" outfit to school?? Who would have thought a floor length skirt would get you sent home??!! (OK...it`s been 40 years...that was you, wasn`t it?? :) By the way, does the new stadium have elevators??

Alan, I am really proud that you can wear your letter jacket anywhere; leg, arm, etc. It should be interesting to see the "maturity lines" that 40 years have brought to everyone. We have not grown older, we have only matured..yeah! Having been gone from G`ville for 16 years, I am amazed to all the changes. For those that have not seen the new football stadium, bring your walkers and get ready for nose bleed, Phillips Field it ain`t. THANKS to all of you for your efforts toward this event. Keep us posted!

Hey everyone... Glad you made it to the website. Make sure you post all of your info as soon as possible so we can annoy you. Also, I think we all owe Danny Ott a big "thank you" for getting this whole website thing going. Thanks Danny!! Stop by and say hello on the message board or leave a memory. We`d love to hear from you. David Heath! It`s been 40 years! You`d better be at this one. Send me your email address so I can harrass you. OK...Bye all. Oh, one other thing. I vote we make a concerted effort to wear our letter jackets the night of the football game. I`ll be wearing mine on my leg. Alan Ackles
